The NAFTA agreement covers four types of work visas. If you’re an individual or business petitioning for one or more of these visas, the experienced immigration attorneys at Sam Shihab & Associates can help. We routinely handle these visas – and any legal problems related to them – for our many international clients:

B-1 visas for temporary visitors for business
TN visas for professional level employees
E-1 and E-2 visas for “treaty-partner” traders and investors, and
L-1 visas for intracompany transferees

At Sam Shihab & Associates, our immigration practice includes assistance with business and employment immigration and with trader, investor, and professional work visas. Our experienced immigration lawyers frequently provide clients with advice and guidance in all matters pertaining to B-1, E-1, E-2, L-1, and TN visas. We are the attorneys that clients around the globe count on for comprehensive immigration-related legal services.

The TN work visa status is available to Canadian and Mexican citizens who seek to enter the U.S. to work at a professional level. “Professional level” work is work that requires a bachelor’s degree (or higher) or credentials such as a professional license. The category also allows U.S.-based employers to sponsor a Mexican or Canadian citizen lacking a degree or a professional license, provided the employee will work in direct support of professionals. There is no cap on TN visas. A sponsored employee must prove Mexican or Canadian citizenship; must prove that he or she will work in a position on the TN listing of occupations; and demonstrate that he or she has the education or experience the job requires.

Immigrating to the United States is always complicated. Sponsors and potential employees considering a TN or other work visa will both want and require the counsel of an experienced immigration lawyer. The immigration attorneys at Sam Shihab & Associates help business professionals and employers choose the right options by providing sound, seasoned legal counsel and representation. Our offices are in Dublin and Columbus, Ohio and in Troy, Michigan, but we work for clients all over the globe. No matter where you are located, contact the experienced immigration attorneys at Sam Shihab & Associates by phone or email today to discuss your specific visa needs and options.
